Abstract

Volatile corrosion inhibitor is one of the effective solutions to protect equipment and devices having a complex, rough surface or containing small parts which traditional anti-corrosion methods cannot protect well. The results of applied research in Ca Mau Power Plant and Dung Quat Refinery showed volatile corrosion inhibitors can absorb on surfaces and prevents the metal corrosion process, with effective protection against corrosion. Obtained protection efficiencies
are over 80% for copper coupons, over 85% for steel coupons in the electric box and over 90% for steel coupons on piping flange outdoor.
