In the basin margin, Early Jurassic coarse-grained deposits are exposed, marking the opening of the basin, grading upward into shallow marine-shelf deposits. In the Middle Jurassic, the basin margin was uplifted corresponding to continental depositional environment, while the basin centre was filled by outer shelf deposits, reflecting a deepening process. Interbedding with these deposits are near shore and estuarine deposits.
Huy Hoang Bui, Quang Tuan Nguyen Copyright (c) http://pvj.vn/index.php/TCDK/article/view/811 Mon, 18 Apr 2022 00:00:00 +0000 Digital transformation characteristics and trends in petroleum exploration and production http://pvj.vn/index.php/TCDK/article/view/812
Digital transformation is an urgent solution for the oil and gas industry in the energy transition trend, helping oil and gas enterprises optimise oil and gas exploration, development and production costs, and improving the competitiveness of oil and gas in comparison with other energy sources, especially new and renewable energy sources.

The article provides an overview of the digital transformation trends in petroleum exploration and production, the current status of digital technology application, difficulties and barriers, thereby making some recommendations on the objectives and orientations for the implementation of digital transformation in petroleum exploration and production in Vietnam.
Anh Duc Nguyen Copyright (c) http://pvj.vn/index.php/TCDK/article/view/812 Mon, 18 Apr 2022 00:00:00 +0000 Optimisation of pipeline integrity management cost by simulation in combination with experimental and risk-based inspection (RBI) study and advanced NDT http://pvj.vn/index.php/TCDK/article/view/814
Subsea pipeline integrity management requires frequent launching of intelligent pig which involves very high risk and cost, especially if using subsea pig receiver. BIENDONG POC has conducted simulation in combination with experimental, risk-based inspection (RBI) studies and advanced non-destructive testing (NDT) by phonon diagnostic technique (PDT). These solutions substitutes the intelligent pigging activity and helps BIENDONG POC save over USD 32 million worth of cost and avoid a long production shutdown.
Cong Nhat Tran, Van Dao Ly, Trong Nghiem Nguyen, Anh Tuan Dang, Huu Hai Ngo Copyright (c) http://pvj.vn/index.php/TCDK/article/view/814 Mon, 18 Apr 2022 00:00:00 +0000 Research on the manufacture of equipment for detecting defects of disjointed, small diameter steel pipes by magnetic flux leakage method http://pvj.vn/index.php/TCDK/article/view/815
This paper presents a design and pilot fabrication of the EMI (electromagnetic inspection) device to meet the requirements of non-destructive inspection of defects on straight, small diameter, variable drill pipes. The improved feature of this device is to replace the normal Hall sensor with the planar Hall sensor with high sensitivity, temperature and time stability to investigate the magnetic field variation caused by the variation of tube thickness. The test unit for detecting longitudinal defects has a new structure with a magnetic field that is magnetised along the circumference of the tube by an electromagnet. The magnetisation system and the test tube do not need to rotate during the measurement. The EMI equipment is expected to be tested at the Electromechanical Enterprise of Vietsovpetro.
Hong Quang Pham, Van Sy Le, Minh Hung Vu, Minh Quoc Binh Phan, Ngoc Khuong Nguyen, Quang Vinh Nguyen Copyright (c) http://pvj.vn/index.php/TCDK/article/view/815 Mon, 18 Apr 2022 00:00:00 +0000 An assessment of the potential of offshore wind power services market and opportunities for oil and gas service companies to 2030 http://pvj.vn/index.php/TCDK/article/view/817
In the context of energy transition, major oil and gas companies (such as Total, BP, Equinor, Shell, Eni, Petronas, and Osted, etc.) have diversified their investment portfolios with new energy projects, including those in offshore wind power.

Resolution No. 55-NQ/TW dated 11 February 2020 of the Politburo on the orientation of Vietnam's national energy development strategy to 2030, vision to 2045 sets the target: the proportion of renewables in the total primary energy supply will reach about 15-20% by 2030; and 25 - 30% by 2045. For wind power, priority should be given to development in accordance with the ability to ensure system safety with reasonable electricity prices; and formulation of supporting policies and breakthrough mechanisms for offshore wind power development in association with the implementation of the Vietnam Maritime Strategy.

The paper focuses on assessing the potential market size for wind power services to 2030 and evaluating the possibility of diversification to include the offshore wind power supply chain of Petrovietnam’s service companies.
Thu Ha Nguyen, Tuyet Vy Vu, Minh Hieu To Copyright (c) http://pvj.vn/index.php/TCDK/article/view/817 Mon, 18 Apr 2022 00:00:00 +0000
