Studying and evaluating the use of demineralised water in thermal power plants

Abstract

Demineralised water directly affects the cost of electricity production and the efficiency of the thermal power plant and depends on a lot of technological parameters and plant operation process. Researching and evaluating the use of demineralised water help save production costs and improve the efficiency of thermal power plants’ operation. In this paper, the operational parameters affecting

the amount of demineralised water were studied and analysed as the basis for the DOE analysis. The data input was investigated at the thermal power plants in Vietnam. The results of empirical statistical analysis identify the factors that influence the consumption of demineralised water, from which recommendations are made for measures to optimise the amount of demineralised water used in each plant.
