Abstract

The paper listed and analysed the success as well as the typical complexities and failures encountered during the construction of wells T-1, T-2 and T-3 in T formation in the southeast area of Cuu Long basin, off shore Vietnam, which is managed by the Petrovietnam Domestic Exploration Production Operating Company Limited (PVEP POC). On that basis, the authors proposed remedial solutions and rationalised the structure for the wells in T formation. One of the proposed solutions is to adjust the depth of the 13⅜inch shoe casing to fi  t the geological formation. This solution has been applied successfully to wells in Cuu Long basin.
