Method of weighted criteria evaluation to select LNG suppliers
Abstract
The LNG market has seen a remarkable growth in the last 20 years due to the rapidly increasing demand for natural gas which amounted to over 258mmtps in 2014. In addition to the traditional LNG importing countries such as Japan, South Korea and Taiwan, there are more and more countries in the world importing LNG as an alternative energy source. Supplies are more diversifi ed with new suppliers from the United States, Qatar, Australia and other countries. Vietnam is importing LNG (Thi Vai and Son My Terminals) for power stations and industrial users. However, the selection of suppliers is not an easy process since it involves the evaluation of supply capabilities, price formula, shipping distance and other conditions. This paper presents the method of weighted criteria evaluation to select LNG suppliers for Vietnam.
