Abstract

The paper presents a study on the influence of NH3 molar ratio on nanostructured silica prepation through the sol - gel method. NH3 plays the role of a catalyst with changing ratio in relation with ethanol, water, and tetraethyl orthosilicate (TEOS)… The precipitate was dried and calcinated at 120oC for 10 hours and 600oC for 3 hours, respectively for the final nanosilica containing products. The result obtained was based on the molar ratio of TEOS/NH3, H2O/NH3 suitable for the particle size from 15 to 30nm.
