Optimisation of pipeline integrity management cost by simulation in combination with experimental and risk-based inspection (RBI) study and advanced NDT
Abstract
Subsea pipeline integrity management requires frequent launching of intelligent pig which involves very high risk and cost, especially if using subsea pig receiver. BIENDONG POC has conducted simulation in combination with experimental, risk-based inspection (RBI) studies and advanced non-destructive testing (NDT) by phonon diagnostic technique (PDT). These solutions substitutes the intelligent pigging activity and helps BIENDONG POC save over USD 32 million worth of cost and avoid a long production shutdown.
