Abstract

The paper presents the steps to identify in-situ stresses (vertical stress, maximum horizontal stress, minimum horizontal stress, and pore pressure); rock properties (Young modulus, Poisson ratio, uniaxial compressive strength and tensile strength) to build a 1D

geomechanical model of wells by using various data such as well-logs and drilling events. After that, the critical stress theory was used to identify the critical fractures that may be productive reservoirs. Finally, the fractures density and orientation were used to design the target and trajectory of drilling wells in the granite basement.
