Abstract

This research develops extended capacitance-resistance models (CRMe) for a reservoir in Cuu Long basin, where natural energy sources interfere in the waterflooding energy mechanism, significantly affecting the reliability of forecasting results. The authors have built and combined the CRMe with the extended Gentil model to evaluate cumulative oil production, which is quite close to the actual data. From that, a quick forecast was made that the cumulative oil production of the reservoir in the next 805 days would be nearly 3.14 million barrels.
