Studying rheological properties of oil - water emulsion in Ca Tam field
Abstract
The study of the rheological properties of products from production wells is an important basis to find optimal technical solutions to enhance the efficiency of collection, treatment and transportation of products.
In Vietnam, the rheological properties of crude oil have been studied, especially crude oil from Bach Ho and Rong fields. However, studies of the rheological properties of oil-water, oil-water-gas mixture are still limited. Nowadays, water-cut appears early and increases rapidly at the production wells, that is why there is an urgent need to study the rheological properties of oil-water mixture to have the basis for deployment of technical solutions.
The article introduces the study of the rheological properties of oil-water 2 phase fluid and presents the results of studying oil-water emulsion rheological properties of Ca Tam field (block 09-3/12, Cuu Long basin, continental shelf of Vietnam).
