Abstract

Carbonate sediment buildup of Tri Ton formation in the south of Song Hong basin is one of the important targets of hydrocarbon prospecting, exploration and exploitation. In order to contribute to elucidating the origin and conditions for sediment accumulation in this area, the article deals with the kinds of biofacies and environments related to the Middle Miocene period on the basis of studying the lithological and paleontological-paleoecological characteristics of fossils in general, especially larger foraminifera (LF), red algae (Rohdolit) and coral according to geological well data.
