Direction and solution to cary out seismic acquisition to ensure reserve increase
Abstract
Applying updated tecnologies in seismic acquisition, processing and interpretation, seismic survey activities during the 2011 - 2015 period have defined the geological structures and evaluated the hydrocarbon potentials, contributing to the rate of success in exploration drilling operations.
In the coming time, Petrovietnam needs to strengthen seismic survey deployment to support both conventional investigation as well as exploration targets, acquire 3D seismic data on large areas and apply advanced technologies for better results of seismic data processing and interpretation to facilitate geological and stratigraphic investigation and non-structural trap definition. The order of priority location for the coming period is: Cuu Long basin, Nam Con Son basin, Malay-Tho Chu basin and Song Hong basin.
