Abstract

In Vietnam, the production of natural gas and the gathering of associated gas mainly concentrate in major fields. Meanwhile, associated gas in small/marginal fields has not been thoroughly gathered and the associated gas is being flared, which is a waste of natural resources. This article reviews the present condition of the gathering system of associated and natural gas from small/marginal fields in the Southern continental shelf of Vietnam, and proposes measures to improve the efficiency of gas gathering and transportation.
