Management of quality and technical properties of imported coal, improving commercial operation efficiency of coal-fired thermal power plants
Abstract
At coal-fired thermal power plants, the cost of coal accounts for 60 - 65% of electricity generation cost. In particular, the quality and technical properties of coal directly affect the economic efficiency of the project, the efficiency of the boiler operation and the maintenance and repair costs. The article proposed solutions for management of the quality and technical properties of imported coal, improvement of the productivity and efficiency of coal-fired thermal power plants during commercial operation, and ash and gypsum handling. These issues should be paid attention right from the project implementation stage in order to develop a strategy for management of the commercial operation and maintenance to improve the productivity and efficiency of projects.
