Training and developing managerial leadership team: A proposed model for Petrovietnam

Abstract

To achieve high effectiveness in training and development of the succeeding leadership team, the current best practice in leadership development training for oil and gas enterprises in the world is to base on the competency framework, optimise training time and costs, and involve the incumbent leadership. The article analyses the role of management and leadership development in enterprises’ sustainable growth, and introduces some good practices in training and development of capable managers and leaders in the world today. A training model is also proposed by the authors to develop successive leadership team for the Vietnam Oil and Gas Group in the future.
