Abstract

Vietnamese crude oil is classified as paraffinic with high molecular weight (solid) n-paraffin, which causes paraffin deposition in production tubing and transportation pipelines. This paper presents a technology to prevent and inhibit paraffin deposition in low productive gas-lift wells by using the method of adsorption of PPD additives on the surface of reservoir rocks. The results proved that this technology is compatible with the geological conditions, production methods, and the properties of Bach Ho’s crude oil, and can be used for wellbores which have not been equipped with PPD dosing pump systems.
