Abstract

The paper presents the solution to search, evaluate and select alternative sources of crude oil to replace Bach Ho crude partly or entirely to diversify the feedstock and ensure stable processing capacity for Dung Quat Refinery without having to revamp the refinery configuration.

The solution has identified 67 kinds of potential alternative crude, including 9 kinds of Vietnamese crude and 58 kinds of imported crude. So far, the refinery has been processing 19 different kinds of alternative crude beside Bach Ho which help to ensure sufficient feed supply for its stable, reliable and beneficial operation.
