Petronas’ sustainable growth strategy
Abstract
Petronas (Petroliam Nasional Bhd) - the Malaysia’s National Oil and Gas Corporation has recently been ranked in the Top 10 most valuable oil and gas brands in the world. In the trend of energy transition, Petronas continues to innovate, perfecting its three-pronged growth strategy in order to ensure a continual and sustainable growth in the future: (i) maximise the value of assets that generate large and stable cash flows for business; (ii) expand the scope of core business domains; (iii) "explore" new areas of activities. The article introduces Petronas' development strategy, especially its integrated business model to maximise the oil and gas value chain, and its way to connect the goals of growth, innovation, and cooperation as business activities go beyond its traditional investment and business areas.
